Breaking Barriers - A Community Wheelchair Tennis Event
WA Top Spinners presents Breaking Barriers - a community wheelchair tennis event embracing all levels of playing experience (including those with none).
It features both singles and adaptive doubles (wheelchair athlete paired with an able-bodied player) matchplay as well as Hit The Target and Movement challenges.
With more than $1,500 in prizes on offer along with a welcoming setting, this is a great way for people to get involved either as a player or a volunteer.
Players are also invited to participate in weekly training sessions in the lead up to the event.
Tennis Australia’s National High-Performance Wheelchair Tennis Coach, Francois Vogelsberger will be in Perth in the week leading up to this event so it'll be a great opportunity to learn from him.
Having a sports wheelchair and a racquet is a bonus but if you don't have one, let us know early so we can try and sort it out.
Registration to participate in matchplay is essential and closes on Saturday, 24 August 2024.
