The Wombat Forestcare Committee warmly invites you to their AGM at the Trentham Neighbourhood Centre on Saturday 7 September commencing at 2pm. We are delighted to have 2 guest speakers, Aviya Naccarella (Deakin Uni) and Emily McIntyre (Melbourne Uni) to kick-off proceedings.Aviya’s research focusses on the ecological interactions between mammals, fungi plants, and soils. She also explores how we can apply knowledge of these species interactions to land management in order to restore ecosystem health, function, and resilience. Emily’s research explores the distribution and diversity of truffle-like fungi and their mutualistic relationship with the endangered Long-Footed Potoroo. She is also undertaking research with MYCOmmunity Applied Mycology to examine the effect of storm damage on soil fungi within Wombat State Forest.
Their talk will be followed by afternoon tea, and the AGM at 4pm.
