A jazz-infused celebration of one of the world’s most adventurous film composers, Ennio Morricone. Morricone is acclaimed as one of the most innovative composers of the 20th century. Loved for his accessible, experimental and contemporary style, unconventional instrumentations and use of the human voice as a melodic instrument, Morricone created his own iconic signature sound that continues to inspire musicians today. Prior to his death in 2020 at age 91, Morricone’s film music career spanned 57 years, including scores for the iconic films The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Untouchables, The Mission, and Cinema Paradiso.
Extasy Morricone celebrates the adventurous side of the composer’s film music from the late 1960s to the early 1980s with a jazz-influenced, psychedelic collection of songs. Featuring some of Melbourne's finest jazz musicians including Italian duo Mirko Guerrini & Ilaria Crociani.
