Timbertop Guided Tour Days 2025
TOUR OUTLINE
-
All families are asked to arrive at the Timbertop campus by 10.45am (the gate will open at 10:15am)
-
We will begin the tour day with a presentation from the Head of Timbertop Campus, Ross Hopkins. Following the presentation, we will enjoy lunch together in the Dining Hall where you will be teamed up with current Timbertop students. These students will be your guides for the day and show you around the living and learning areas of our Campus.
-
Following the Campus tour, you are invited to join us on a guided walk of the 'Term One Crossie'. The course is an undulating 2.5 kms with a steep section of approximately 100m hill at the halfway point. We ask you to complete this walk with your child so that they can get a clearer idea of the type of terrain they will be running through in the year. (It may also allow your child to recognise the need for some pre-Timbertop training). Most importantly, walking this track together can help to remove potential nervousness some students feel about the running programme before commencing the Timbertop year. The walk is not timed, nor is it a race; it is simply an opportunity to experience a snapshot of Timbertop life.
-
Families should wear clothes and shoes suited to walking this track (there are no change room facilities available). Upon completing the walk, you will be free to leave the campus.
