Ben and Felicity will be having a Q&A style discussion around changes and challenges affecting design consultants, including changes in NSW and VIC legislation and regulations for the construction industry, contractual issues, sub-consultancy, as well as the impact on professional indemnity insurance, and risk management strategies to mitigate or even remove these risks.

- Have a greater understanding of the current risks facing engineering practices in the performance of their services;
- Gain insight into the impact of the proposed draft Building Bill and the currently stalled Practice Standard for Professional Engineers on engineering practices in NSW, and those proposed amendments in VIC intended to reflect the DBP Act in NSW;
- Identify common contractual issues that arise when performing professional engineering services; and
- Navigate the impact of these risks and issues on PI insurance, and obtain practical risk management strategies to reduce or mitigate these risks to protect your practice.
