About
Speaker: S. Mostafa Rasoolimanesh, Vice-Chancellor Professorial Research Fellow,Professor of Sustainable Tourism, Edith Cowan University
Fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) is a set-theoretic and asymmetric analysis technique that was initially developed during the 1980s to analyse complex social and political conditions with a small number of cases.
However, applications of fsQCA are not limited to small sample size, but extend to large datasets in different disciplines. In an asymmetric approach like fsQCA, the aim is to explore how various combinations of independent variables generate specific levels of outcome(s), for different groups of cases.
These combinations of predictors can be categorized as sufficient or necessary conditions based on number and ratio of supported cases.
In this webinar, the basic definition and component of fsQCA, necessary steps to perform this asymmetric analysis techniques will be explained.
