Chris Hatcher will host "HATCH and The World" — a unique tasting event where four standout wines from HATCH will be compared to their global counterparts, handpicked by our very own Old Bridge wine gurus. 

You'll sip and savour your way through a comparative tasting of four Rieslings and four Shiraz/Syrahs, spotlighting the distinct characteristics of the iconic South Australian regions while offering insights into Nahe - Germany, Alsace and the Rhone Valley – France, and Hawkes Bay - NZ. Each wine has been carefully selected to highlight the finest varietal expressions from around the world and will be perfectly paired with a delectable selection of substantial canapés.

Founded by Chris 'Hatch' Hatcher, a winemaker with a passion for perfection and a love for 1920s art déco, jazz, and elegance, HATCH Wines launched with a mission to craft beautiful, classic wines that stand the test of time. All the wines featured in this event have received an impressive 96 points, a testament to Chris Hatcher’s remarkable winemaking journey, which includes being named International Winemaker of the Year three times at the IWSC (London) and four-time “International Red Winemaker of the Year” at the IWC (London). A respected wine judge with experience in over 75 international wine competitions, many as Chair of Judges, Hatch brings unparalleled expertise and passion to every bottle.

His journey into winemaking revealed a surprising family legacy: his great-grandfather, Alf Vesey, was Penfolds' Master Winemaker, who mentored the legendary Max Schubert, creator of Penfolds Grange. This discovery deepened Hatch’s commitment to creating wines that honour Australia’s finest regional varietals, designed for immediate enjoyment and long-term aging.
