Journey into the enchanting world of Alice by Heart, presented by Queensland College of Dance and performed by our Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Musical Theatre students. This re-imagining of Lewis Carroll's timeless tale is set against the bleak backdrop of World War II and follows Alice Spencer, who retreats into Wonderland to escape the horrors of the London Blitz and the impending loss of her dear friend Alfred, who is gravely ill. As Alice navigates her magical surroundings, the boundaries between fantasy and reality blur, with familiar Wonderland characters reflecting the people and emotions Alice faces in the real world.Featuring an evocative score by Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater, this heartfelt tale explores love, loss, and the power of imagination in dark times, reminding us of the hope within our own minds.
