Monthly LGBTIQA+ Dating Events for Over 40's in Victoria
(FYI this is NOT a speed dating event! All of our activities are group-based, optional, fun and much less pressure than speed dating!)
WHEN:
SATURDAY 30th November 2024 2pm - 4pm
Arrive at 2pm sharp for the full experience
WHAT:
Structured activites from 2PM - 4PM
- MAIN ROOM: optional large group ice-breakers followed by short 1:1 (or small group) conversations for 5-7mins. When the bell rings, you move to a new person or group.
- QUIET ROOM: small group conversations (topics supplied or DIY)
- REAR COURTYARD: free-range mingling (conversation cards supplied if wanted)

SUMMARY:
Melbourne Comedians Nelly Thomas and Dean Arcuri are running a series of 'Dating and Connection' events for LGBTIQA+ folks over the age of 40. Both Nelly and Dean were thrown back into dating in their forties and they will help you navigate this exciting - but sometimes daunting - journey in all it’s glorious forms.
Dating with the help of two Fairy Godmothers!
WHY:

We're too bloody “vintage” for loud venues, mind-games, swiping and all that other shit!

Old Fashioned Romance is not mandatory but it sure is encouraged.

Good, clear communication and boundaries are encouraged.

WHO IS OVER THE RAINBOW FOR?

Everyone under the LGBTIQA+ rainbow is welcome as long as you are over the age of 40.

If you're shy, Nelly and Dean will lend a hand.

If you came out later in life, we welcome you into the community.

Rural and Regional folks encouraged to attend: farmer wants a husband! Milkmaid wants a wife!
Our focus will be on FUN (events)

There will be some structured activities and dates, but nothing will be forced.
There will be 'chillout' and 'quiet' spaces available.
Consent and Respect - of all kinds - will be paramount.
There will be designated 'safe people' to give you a hand and some support if you need.
Come together in a relaxed and safe space with people your own age where you might meet a date, a friend or someone you'd like to introduce to a friend.
