Meanwhile Back at The Ranch takes audiences on a journey through the quirky Western Swing era of the southern states during America’s great swing era from the thirties to the fifties.When Swing hit the USA , the south-western states combined the hot new swing rhythms of the north with the music of the west creating a new genre called Western Swing.
Western Swing became a major hit packing out huge dance halls everywhere. When you hear it you will understand why.
In Western swing you will hear influences from traditional jazz songs, popular music, country and fiddle tunes and even gypsy jazz, all combined into a very entertaining blend – sometimes referred to as Cowboy Jazz.
