Paediatric Emergency Course
About
This course is an intensive one-day course aimed at medical, nursing and ambulance service personnel.There are four sessions available: May, June, August and October
The day is presented by a range of Paediatric Emergency Consultants, Ambulance Tasmania Retrievals, Emergency Department Nurses, Paediatric Consultants, Neonatologist's and Registrars.
Key elements addressed in the course include:
Recognition and management of acutely unwell paediatric patients.
Cardiac arrest algorithms
Team based approach to preparation and management of paediatric resuscitation.
The day is focussed on practical hands-on sessions and intensive small groupwork.
Practical sessions include:
Airway management
Intraosseous access
Defibrillation
The choking child
The deteriorating child
Lunch and morning coffee is provided and included in the $60 cost of the course.
