Film Screening: The Posh and the Riff Raff (SOLD OUT)
About
Join us for a special screening of The Posh and the Riff Raff (2023), followed by a conversation with director Marianne Latham and St Kilda Film Festival curator Richard Sowada. In the late 1800s St Kilda was home to the richest, most influential people in Australia, before greed and arrogance turned it into a depraved and destitute slum. As the seaside suburb declined, musicians, artists, writers, film makers and migrants moved in, making it a destination for visitors seeking music, culture and seaside vistas.
Journalist and documentary maker Marianne Latham has produced hundreds of hours of broadcast television for ABCTV, SBSTV, the Nine Network, Seven Network, Foxtel, Bloomsbury London and ARTE France.
Curator, academic, and screen culture advocate Richard Sowada is founder and director of the Revelation Film Festival, was 9-year Head of Film Programs at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) and in 2018 co-directed the Brisbane International Film Festival.
