Layers of Blak showcases the work of 11 Victorian First Nations artists and designers. This exhibition is the creative outcome of the second iteration of the Koorie Heritage Trust's groundbreaking Blak Design program. Reflecting the spirit of collaboration at the heart of the program, exhibiting artists Lorraine Brigdale and Yasmin Silveira will lead a practical weaving workshop. Exploring traditional techniques, they will share stories and personal reflections on their work in the exhibition and the creative processes they employ in their broader practices, deepening cultural connections through experimenting with new materials and techniques.
Participants will make a bracelet using coil weave techniques. All materials provided.
