About
Pneumonia is the leading cause of death in young children under 5 years with over 650,000 deaths annually especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Pneumonia can be prevented and treated effectively through several different strategies. Access to preventive strategies, such as new vaccines, and treatments such as oxygen and antibiotics are often suboptimal in LMICs. It is important to reduce barriers to access, especially in high burden settings where the need is greatest.Hosted by the Centre of Research Excellence for Pneumococcal Disease Control in the Asia-Pacific, this event brings together experts in pneumococcal and vaccine research. This event will be hosted in a hybrid format with Zoom details sent closer to the date. On-site, the event will be hosted at Ella Latham Auditorium.
