Adolescents who use Violence (CANCELLED)

Designed for those working with adolescents who use violence, this workshop will provide the knowledge and skills to effectively engage them and deliver interventions that lead to change.

Participants will explore the theories that underpin violence, discern the functions of aggression, understand the role of trauma, and explore unique factors in adolescent violence. Common mistakes in engaging teens will be revealed and effective techniques discussed. Managing challenging presentations, including responding to denial and low motivation will be workshopped.

Under the expert guidance of the facilitator(s), each participant will conclude the workshop having developed their own case formulation and intervention plan for a young person.

This workshop is suitable for support workers, counsellors, social workers, psychologists, teachers, case managers, and other helping professionals.
