Trio Arapilés at St John's Malvern East
About
Matthew Kneale (bassoon) Niels Bijl (saxophone) and Berta Brozgul (Piano) invite you to this festive concert, with two absolute classics performed in a new light and the world premiere of the sax bassoon piano version of Benton Broadstock's "I touched your Glistening Tears". The fragile beauty of this emotional work will be joined by two masterpieces, first time ever performed for this ensemble. First of it's Mendelssohn's Second "konzertstück", a whirlwind of music originally composed for two of Mendelssohn's dearest friends, a father and son playing clarinet. apparently the deal was that the composer was promised a payment in food, which iis always an inspiring incentive! the last piece of the program is Beethoven's famous Trio Opus 11, Gassenhauer: originally for piano clarinet and cello, and both a classic Beethoven piece AND an hommage to classical and well-known German Beer- and Drinking Songs.St John's Malvern East 5 Finch Street
