About
Join us for an evening of musical diversity, celebrating festive cheer, timeless classics, and contemporary gems. The program features powerful works such as excerpts from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana and Verdi’s Manzoni Requiem. We also highlight the music of Philip Sparke, renowned for his impact on modern wind band literature and several chamber group items.Our 2024 GWS Young Player Scholarship recipient, Daniel Chong, will perform the jazz classic Afro Blue on vibraphone. Solo and small group performances will include Molly on the Shore by Percy Grainger and Bugler’s Holiday by Leroy Anderson.
Guest vocalists Erin Wallach and Kristian Gregory will sing Grainger’s Skye Boat Song with the band. The concert concludes with a lively version of Mary’s Boy Child.
