About
Formed in 2009 through the Classical Guitar Society of Victoria, the Guitar Orchestra (GO) has quickly become Victoria’s leading community-based guitar ensemble. Under the direction of Benjamin Dix, the GO brings together guitarists of all backgrounds to enhance their skills and gain performance experience.The GO has performed at prestigious venues like the Melbourne Recital Centre and MPavilion, and collaborated with renowned artists such as Z.O.O Duo and Melbourne Guitar Quartet. They've explored a diverse repertoire, from traditional to contemporary works, unique ensemble arrangements to modern Australian compositions.
This December, the GO presents a captivating program that reimagines a collection of songs from South America, Ireland, and traditional favorites. The concert will also feature a reinterpretation of a prize-winning work by former GO member Rick Alexander, with Melbourne-based guitarist Deniz Kaplan as soloist.
