Bernard, a bachelor in the 1960’s, has a flat in Paris with not one, not two, but three airline stewardesses engaged to him - without knowing about each other. His life gets bumpy, indeed, as his careful planning comes unstuck with new airline schedules, faster jets and unseasonable weather. Surely all three stewardesses can’t all be in the same city at the same time. Or can they? In an enlightened world of feminism and #Me-too-ism, how can an apparently sexist play about an over-confident architect juggling physical romances with three separate women be so compelling? Perhaps because it seems farfetched; perhaps because farce can be very funny! It is written to a formula that includes an open-mouthed sidekick, a belligerent maid and doors flapping with such force and frequency that they threaten, like the characters, to become completely unhinged.
