About

On 6 December witness a momentous occasion as we honour the Legacy of William Cooper.
This is the anniversary of the date that William Cooper, an indigenous Australian and human rights activist, marched together with members of the Australian Aborigines’ League, from his home in Footscray to the German consulate in 1938, four weeks after Kristallnacht, to present a statement against antisemitism to the German Government.
The Statement was rejected by the German Consul of the day.
A new 2024 Statement will be presented to our government calling for social cohesion and an end to racism.
