An Interprofessional Tracheostomy Workshop for management of adult patients with a tracheostomy. This workshop is relevant to nurses, allied health and medical staff and is aimed at a novice to intermediate level.Workshop Includes: Full Day and/or Half Day Sessions (both include lunch) and all prices are inclusive of GST.
Morning - "Fundamentals of Tracheostomy - Theoretical Session"
Afternoon - "Practical Application with Modified Simulation Scenarios"
Topics include:
- Fundamentals of tracheostomy
- Types of tracheostomy tubes, cuffs and Passy Muir Valve (PMV) use
- Humidification and suctioning
- Stoma care and dressings
- Emergency Management
- Decannulation
- Care of a long term tracheostomy patient
