"Engaging Students In their Mathematical Learning" facilitated by Michael Minas, the founder of "Love Maths".This series consists of 4 spaced online professional learning sessions, from 1:30 - 3:30pm on these dates:
11 February 2025 - Session 1: Problem solving incorporating the proficiencies from V2.0
25 March 2025 - Session 2: Developing a planning model for teaching problem solving
7 May 2025 - Session 3: Building conceptual understanding
4 June 2025 - Session 4: Using the proficiency of fluency to build student engagement
Focus/ Learning Intentions:
1. Identify Mathematical tasks which are highly engaging for all students
2. Enhance participants knowledge of the V2.0 Mathematics curriculum and build their confidence to teach it
3. Develop a student - centered approach to the teaching of mathematics
Target Audience: Classroom teachers and leaders' of mathematics in primary and junior secondary.
