Paediatric Sepsis Program

Come to the Sepsis Sim and practise how to manage the child with sepsis.This full day course will run from 08:00-16:30 and will focus around the recognition and management of sepsis in a patient who has been admitted to the ward.
Participants will also have training around human factors to improve teamwork and clinical decision-making.
The course includes:
• Clinical skills workshops (including lumbar puncture and obtaining intraosseous access) relevant to the management of paediatric sepsis.
• Training in human factors to improve our ability to work as a team when managing patients with sepsis.
• Participation in inter-professional simulated scenarios.
• Debriefing and discussion to explore the clinical problems and team performance.
To simulate real clinical situations, this course will require an interprofessional team. Therefore, places are limited for medical and nursing/allied health.
