The First Light Widowed Support Luncheons are a unique event that empower attendees to navigate their grief and take the first steps in rebuilding healthy, successful and fulfilling lives after the death of their partner or spouse.

Designed to improve mental wellbeing, resilience and community connection, our luncheons bring widowed people together in a positive atmosphere to:

• grow their peer-support network
• access informed resources
• and offer the hope and inspiration that will enable them to take steps forward through their grief.

One of the features that makes these events so unique is that the organisers, facilitators, speakers and volunteers are all widowed themselves.

The events are hosted by widowed people, for widowed people – attendees are surrounded by those with a lived experience of grief – something that can only be understood and validated by others who share this life experience.

Cost:

• $75 First Light subsidised ticket / $180 non-subsidised ticket

Your ticket includes:

• Buffet lunch
• Experienced speakers who will deliver messages of hope and inspiration
• Community-building opportunities through a facilitated session to connect with others who share similar experiences and circumstances
• Information about resources and programs available to provide continued support after the event
• A take home information pack 
• (Optional) Being connected to another attendee prior to the official start of the event
• A supportive and positive atmosphere, where the focus is not on ‘death’, but on rebuilding a life after loss.

Parking
We encourage use of public transport and carpooling if this is an option.
