About
Brass BLAST! is an exciting new opportunity for secondary school brass players, brought to you by the UWA Conservatorium of Music alongside some of WA’s finest brass performers and educators!
The program is designed to support young musicians from public schools in their musical growth, providing valuable solo, chamber, and ensemble performance experiences.
Brass BLAST! offers a unique chance for students to:
- Enhance performance skills through personalised coaching and masterclasses.
- Boost exam preparation with expert guidance, including the chance to perform with a professional pianist.
- Develop collaboration skills in chamber and large brass ensembles.
- Connect with peers and mentors from across WA, building a sense of community and shared learning.
Participants will gain confidence, improve their musical abilities, and deepen their passion for brass playing.
Application Deadline: 28 February 2025
Audition Process: Applicants will be invited to send in a recorded audition, comprising 1 piece (max 2 minutes) - a camera phone recording is fine.
Session dates: Monday's 17, 24, 31 Mar and 7 Apr 2025 | 4-5.30pm*
*Participants should be available to atend all 4 sessions.
