PIPER PAEDIATRIC - Situation Critical Seminar
About
This program is aimed for experienced medical and nursing staff caring for paediatric patients, who want to upskill in their management for severely unwell children. The focus of the program is to safely manage and stabilise children in their department until PIPER or further help arrives.*Please note there is an additional trybooking fee to the listed ticket prices.
The program focuses on the following topics and skill stations.
Topics may include but subject to change:
- Recognition of serious illness
- Sepsis recognition and management
- Reducing adverse events during intubation
- Case discussion: Shock
- Skills station: Respiratory support
- Skills station: Preparation for intubation
- Simulation: Resuscitation
- Case discussion: Stabilisation and preparation for transport
Cost: Full day (light lunch included)
Nursing - $275
Medical - Fellows/Registrars/Trainees - $275
Medical - Consultants/GPs - $550

Refunds will be provided at the absolute discretion of RCH and must be submitted in writing. Requests for refunds should be emailed to nets.education@rch.org.au

If the date you wish to attend is fully, booked, please contact us via the Contact Form button below with your name, contact details, program date and ticket type. If a position becomes available, those on the waitlist will be offered a position in order of the list.

To get to the hospital from the city, take
- Tram 59 from Flinders Street Station (in Elizabeth Street)
- Tram 58 from Toorak via William Street, City
To get to the hospital toward the city , take
- Tram 59 from Airport West
- Tram 58 from West Coburg
Tram and train tickets can be purchased from the RCH retail Wood Pharmacy, located in Main Street.
