To celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year, Australasian Art and Stageworks (AASI) is presenting a multicultural variety show, with performers from Asian Australian communities, for whom the lunar new year is a joyous occasion. The aim of this event is to create connection and harmony among cultural groups and the wider Australian community.AASI’s president, actor Gabrielle Chan, has invited Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and Japanese performers to take part in an entertaining, diversified program that the wider community can enjoy. The program contains traditional and contemporary songs, opera excepts and dances, together with an illustration of lunar new year customs. Each item will be explained and introduced by the MC, Claudia Chan Shaw.
The program includes the following Chinese items: Cantonese and Mandarin pop songs, opera excerpts, ribbon and fan dances; Vietnamese songs and dances; Korean and Japanese dances, K-pop dancers, Japanese kimono catwalk.
