BRIAN CHAPMAN & FRIENDS - Mozart, Beethoven and Dvořák

About
The concert opens with Mozart’s beautifully melodious Sonata in B flat for Violin and Piano, K.378, all three movements of which reveal a sunny outlook with joyful themes passed back and forth between the two instruments. Then follows Beethoven’s final Sonata in D for Cello and Piano, Op.102 No.2 with a sublime, ecstatic slow movement surrounded by a powerfully energetic first movement and a ‘tongue-in-cheek’ fugal finale. After Interval be swept along as all three musicians join forces in the impassioned dance rhythms and melancholy lyricism of Dvořák’s famous ‘Dumky’ Trio in E minor, Op.90.Date
