Kanyana Advanced Tube Feeding Course

Learn to tube feed and provide safe oral hydration for parrots, waterbirds, reptiles and other species seen in wildlife rehabilitation. Identify and manage complex cases, administer anti-fungal treatments under guidance, encourage weaning and mentor volunteers completing the Basic Tube Feeding Course.
This course is suited to any person who has previously completed the Basic Tube Feeding Course at Kanyana.

Kanyana Volunteer (member) course pre-requisites:
Before attending this course all Kanyana volunteers must have:
- completed Basic Tube Feeding competencies
- been a Basic Tube Feeder on shift at Kanyana for at least three (3) months
- an approved mentor
- approval from their shift supervisor.
On completion of this course, you will work through the advanced tube feeding (ATF) competencies. You will be guided and progressively signed off by your Approved Mentor. The completion of ATF competencies usually takes 3–6 months from the course date (depending on the scope for practice etc.).
