Jewellery Design and Sketching (SOLD OUT)

About
This 8 week part-time course is commencing on March 31 2025 with classes on Monday evenings. Each class is 2.5 hours, from 6.30pm to 9pm.It contains practical industry knowledge on how to communicate and understand design requests from clients and translate them into 2 dimensional drawings that a jeweller can work from. We focus mostly on rings as the principals learnt here can be applied to all other pieces. Once mastered, the important key techniques that we cover can be adapted to design any piece of jewellery.
The bulk of the course covers the technical drawing side of jewellery design. While we don’t cover perspective drawing, we do learn about foreshortening to make our drawings look three dimensional. It is important to note that the technical drawings are performed on a scale of 1:1, so good close-up vision is a must.
The course covers a lot of concepts fast, and practice between classes is recommended to get the most out of the course.
