"Understanding and Responding to Harmful Child Sexual Behaviour in Primary Schools"Learning Outcomes:
• Understand sexual development as a typical aspect of childhood, including the continuum of sexual behaviour and identify the characteristics of healthy sexual behaviours as well as those which are concerning, problematic or harmful
• Understand the factors that contribute to these behaviours including the neurobiology of trauma, attachment, family violence and pornography
• Identify risk and protective factors
• Develop practical response strategies guided by the needs of those involved
• Understand the policies, processes and teams that can assist in responding to and managing student sexual behaviour and apply best practice approaches to responding to sexual risk, sexual abuse disclosure or signs of sexual abuse
• Understand the work of local support services
