Edith Cowan Memorial Lecture - International Women's Day

Join ECU for the Edith Cowan Memorial Lecture celebrating International Women’s DayInternational Women’s Day is held annually in March and this year’s UN Women Australia theme is ‘March Forward’.
Thirty years ago, the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action set a bold vision for gender equality. Since then, women have shattered barriers, influenced policies, and sparked global movements.
To mark this occasion, ECU's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Clare Pollock, will explore this year’s theme with a panel of distinguished industry leaders. These leaders are celebrated for their bold and transformational vision, as well as their roles as champions of equity and women's empowerment:
- Clothilde Bullen OAM – Manager of Art, Culture, and Collections at Edith Cowan University. She is an acclaimed Wardandi and Badimaya curator, writer, and advocate. Recently, Clothilde has been recognised with an Order of Australia Medal for Services to the Arts, specifically Indigenous Art.
- Di Bain - Chair of Tourism Western Australia and the WAAPA Advisory Board. Di is a marketing and communications professional with more than two decades' experience in the sector. Currently, she serves on advisory boards for the Telethon Kids Institute, Curtin MBA Advisory Board, Perth Zoo Fundraising Committee and Black Swan State Theatre Company.
- Graham Kerr – CEO and Managing Director of South32. He has a strong track record in resource development, and global experience as a commercial and operational leader within the resource industry. In 2019, he was recognised by ECU as a distinguished Alumni Award winner, particularly for his efforts as an advocate for promoting diversity and inclusion across the sector.
The event will be moderated by Sonia MacKay-Coghill, ECU’s Vice-President (Engagement).
Event open to the public. Registrations are essential.
