The Sydney Russian Orthodox Chamber choir is presenting a fundraising concert for Great Lent.This program, featuring hymns of the All-Night Vigil and Divine Liturgy, will guide us through a series of monumental works that have defined Russian Orthodox liturgical music for four centuries:
From the Baroque influences of Titov and Bortniansky, to the profound Romanticism of Rachmaninov and Kalinnikov, Chesnokov and Kastalsky.
As well as 20th century composers like Kedroff, Ledkovsky, and finally, the contemporary voice of Kurt Sander.
Through your generous contributions from tickets and CD sales, we will able to continue the preservation of this extraordinary musical tradition, provide access to classical arts, and support the next generation of musicians.
