This walking tour uncovers the forgotten footprint and architecture of Adelaide’s Destitute Asylum which housed South Australia’s poor, especially new arrivals, and mothers with children between 1850 & 1918. Discover the fascinating history and learn about lives of those who lived here.
Join staff from the Migration Museum, currently occupying some of the Asylums last surviving buildings and discover the orientation of the site and its structures that famously was the Destitute Asylum.
Tour is subject to weather conditions and involves walking, standing and steps, runs approximately 60-90 minutes.
