Women, Wildflowers and Art: International Women's Day Panel (CANCELLED)

About
Why have women across cultures and generations been inspired to create art about wildflowers and nature?Join us for a rich and insightful discussion exploring the deep connections between women, art, and the natural world. From Indigenous knowledge and cultural traditions to the pioneering work of artist-environmentalists like Kathleen McArthur, we'll delve into the many reasons women have turned to wildflowers as a source of artistic expression—whether for practical, personal, cultural, or environmental purposes.
Through the lens of contemporary artists, we’ll examine how this legacy continues to evolve, creating meaningful connections between art, nature, and new audiences today.
Featuring: Wild/flower Women Co-curator Dr Sue Davis, First Nations Arts Professional Deb Bennett, and wildflowering artists Joolie Gibbs and Dr Renata Buziak.
IWD Panel discussion will be followed by a cyanotype workshop with Renata Buziak - please see other event listings for details.
