FROM THE DIRECTOR

Curating this vivid world has been an unforgettable journey. It started with a spark of an idea which quickly became a lucid dreamscape, one that was not bounded by the conformities of our present day world. A dreamscape where the limits could be breached without a thought for the implications - and that is how 'The Radio' came to fruition. Over the course of the six month long production, watching this project build up, scene by scene, cut by cut, evoked catharsis from me. My invaluable efforts and nights of pondering led me through an adventure of discovery and passion, one that will never be replicated.

I speak on behalf of the cast and other involving parties when I say that this project is more than just a short film - it is a testament to the harmonious nature we can all live in by sharing our passions. The amazing cast that beautifully manifested the words of the screenplay into our reality, our dedicated production assistant who aided in the fruition of this project, and our wonderfully accomodating mentors who fueled this film. The beauty does not lie in the final product, rather it lies in how the product came to be.

And so it is with great pleasure that I cordily invite you to the official premiere of The Radio - A Short Film directed and written by me. The premiere is set to take place on June 1, 2025 at The Backlot Perth.

THE STORY

A detective is called to investigate a series of inexplicable deaths, each linked to an old, battered radio left at the scene. As she digs deeper, she begins to uncover a dark force that uses sound as a trap, luring its victims toward a gruesome end. Now, as the eerie patterns close in on her, she must unravel the truth before she becomes its next target.
