Understanding Men who Sexually Abuse

This training will be of interest to practitioners who work with men who have or are at risk of harmful sexual behaviour. It aims to raise awareness and understanding of the causes and manifestations of sexual abuse and improve professional practice. It covers a range of areas including relevant models and theoretical frameworks, risk factors and treatment needs, and recommendations for practice.
- Develop awareness of the scale and prevalence of sexual abuse.
- Understand the offence process through an introduction to the models and theories of sexual offending.
- Consider relevant risk factors and treatment needs for this cohort.
- Expand your understanding of effective intervention and support.
- Consolidate your learning through the use of applied case studies.
- Explore ways to look after yourself in doing this work.
This training will appeal to psychologists, social workers, or community workers.
