Join us for a special Celtic-themed Cemetery Walk as we celebrate the Irish heritage of Yass.As St Patrick’s Day approaches, take a step back in time and uncover the stories of early Yass Valley residents from Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Walk among their headstones as our knowledgeable guides share tales of their triumphs, secrets, and misfortunes—stories that shaped our community.
This 90-minute guided tour, led by experienced volunteers from the Yass Valley History Centre, offers a unique way to honour those who came before us while embracing the spirit of St Patrick’s Day.
Gather your friends, wear a splash of green, and celebrate our Celtic heritage with us!
Please note: the ground at the cemetery is uneven and not suitable for strollers or those with mobility issues. Please wear sturdy footwear and bring sun protection and water.
Toilets are not available at the Old Yass cemetery, however there is a composting toilet located nearby at the Yass Lawn Cemetery.
