2025 Paediatric Dysphagia Masterclass Series: Managing Dysphagia in the Community Setting

About
Have you ever found yourself stumped or stressed by a child with dysphagia? Never thought you’d have to touch IDDSI testing with a ten-foot pole? We've been there!
Hospital-based speech pathologists navigate these issues daily, but with rising rates of complex disability, community speech pathologists are increasingly being asked to offer support to children with dysphagia outside of hospitals, and often without the professional networks that hospital-based clinicians rely on. Many professional development courses in the feeding world focus on more prevalent feeding issues like restricted diets and navigating family mealtimes, which can mean speech pathologists are at a loss for what to do when a child with dysphagia presents in their clinic.
If this is you, join us for a series of four dynamic masterclasses designed specifically for speech pathologists working with dysphagic children in the community. Explore evidence-based strategies for prescribing and weaning thickeners, assessing and measuring paediatric dysphagia in the clinic (hiiii, NDIA), supporting oral hygiene, and working with children who are at risk when eating and drinking.
These practical, multidisciplinary masterclasses will equip you with more specific knowledge and skills to enhance care, improve outcomes, and collaborate effectively with families and other professionals in managing complex paediatric dysphagia in the community.
