Ararat Champions - Palliative Care in Aged Care Study Day
About
This study day will focus on the delivery of a palliative approach, palliative care, and terminal care for clients in Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACF).Speakers will explore identification of clinical deterioration and strategies for managing physical symptoms including pain, nausea, constipation, and breathlessness. In addition, care of the dying resident will be discussed including management of terminal symptoms, such as terminal agitation and respiratory secretions.
Due to popularity with RACF workforce, this is a repeat program from study day held March 2025 in Ballarat. Registration fee will be fully refunded following attendance due to support from Ballarat Hospice Care, Grampians Region Palliative Care Consortium and GRPCT. This funded education event aims to support palliative care capacity building within the Aged Care workforce.
