This seminar will extend on the concepts of procedural knowledge and implicit relational knowledge to look at how these have relevance in working with parents and adults in therapy settings. The developmental science of how early attachments become states of mind will be discussed. The seminar will then discuss how these patterns become constraints on the functioning of adults in their relationships, including with their children.Joe Coyne has worked for 30 years as an applied developmental psychologist in the area of child and family psychology and adult psychotherapy. He is an accredited therapist and supervisor for the Circle of Security Intensive intervention, and also the COS-P. He currently works as a consultant and trainer for Circle of Security International and in private practice.
