Chemical Users Course - 2 day Training Course (SOLD OUT)

This training is available to Landcare Members in West Gippsland CMA area.
Day 1 - Friday May 16th
Day 2 - Friday May 23rd
This 2 day course provides participants with the fundamental skills and knowledge to apply chemicals within the workplace in a safe and responsible manner. The course further provides participants to accurately interpret information written on chemical labels and the skills to manage all issues associated with the purchase, storage, handling, use and disposal of chemicals.
• Pests and pest control
• Understanding farm chemicals
• Selecting chemicals
• Reading the label
• Transporting and storing chemicals
• Decanting and mixing chemicals
• Apply chemicals
• Cleaning up and disposing of chemicals
• Emergency procedures for first aid
• Planning chemical use
• Hazards and risk assessment.
After successfully completing this skills set, learners may choose to apply for an "agricultural chemical user permit". (ACUP)
