Recognized as one of the Top 3 Queensland Festivals of the Year 2023 at the QMusic Awards, and celebrating its 45th year, this festival has become an integral part of the DNA of the charming township of Yungaburra (Janggaburru) in Far North Queensland. The Tablelands Folk Festival, through the celebration and appreciation of performance, strengthens the area's rich cultural traditions and introduces new and innovative music and art. This encompasses Traditional and Original music of all origins and genres, and includes other performance or participation art such as spoken word, written, acted, dance and entertainment, environmental awareness, wellbeing and education generally.
