Spectrum Rifle Open Competition

All Adult Competitors at SSAA QLD or SSAA National Competitions held in QLD must have the appropriate license for the class of firearms being contested.
Due to safety concerns; No domestic animals are allowed on the range property unless written permission is obtained from the property owner and property lessee.
Match Format: 5 Stages from July monthly course of fire as well as 11 stages written specifically for this event. Match sponsor – Accurate Target Gear – has custom designed all targets for the event which promises to bring a fresh approach to Spectrum Rifle and a bold North Queensland theme.
The Match will be contested and graded as per the Practical Shooting Rulebook.
Round Count: Approx 180 rounds for competition
Calibre: 22LR chambered rifles, Standard Velocity Ammunition
Grading: Grading will be as per Practical Shooting Rulebook
SSAA Qld Open Medals will be awarded
Cost: $150 per competitor including food package
$85 per non-competitor food package only
Food Package: Due to the range location, competitors will be provided a hot breakfast Saturday & Sunday morning, cold meat and salad for lunch Saturday, old traditional snag and bread with a twist for Sunday lunch. Full dinner of steak and salad Saturday night. Please advise of any special dietary requirements when registering.
Camping: SSAA Thuringowa Branch offers camping with on-site toilets & showers. We run a 12v solar and will have a 240 generator on site for the weekend. Competitors are encouraged to camp with ample room for caravans, camper trailers and tents.
Pets: Due to the Shooting Complex being a Nature Reserve, no pets are allowed on the property without prior consent of the SSAA Qld State Executive Committee.
Accommodation: For those not wishing to camp at the complex, Townsville is located a short 30 minute drive to the Airport/CBD. There is plenty of accommodation and food options available in Townsville area within 15 minutes of the complex.
Proposed Match Timeline
Friday 4th July: Midday range open for sight in and side match. Range strictly closed at 4pm to allow set up for Saturday
Saturday 5th July: Range safety brief at 8:30am sharp. Shooting to commence at 9am with completion of 5pm
Sunday 6th July: Range safety brief at 8:30am sharp. Shooting to commence at 9am with presentations expected to commence at 2pm following the event.

An event may be postponed or cancelled at any time by SSAA (Qld.) Inc. SSAA Queensland and SSAA Thuringowa Branch Inc. will not be liable for reimbursement to competitors for any costs associated with a postponed or cancelled SSAA Queensland event for any reason.
