Legendary Melbourne Blues & Roots/Rock band The Detonators are back in town for this one-off Black Friday gig at Leichhardt Bowlo with Sydney Alt-Country/Cowpunk band, Spurs for Jesus!Times: Spurs For Jesus: 8pm - 9pm. The Detonators: 9.20 pm - 10.30pm.
The Detonators were formed in Melbourne in 1997. They believe they have easily done more than 3000 gigs since then.
They have a finely honed array of original songs and a stage show that only comes from years of gigging in pubs, clubs and festivals. Their relentless gigging and touring over vast distances through the years, both in Australia and overseas, has seen them crowned kings of Australian roots rock'n'roll. Their original music is best described as a lethal combination of early blues with a sprinkling of rockabilly and early rock'n'roll thrown in.
For over 2 decades, Spurs For Jesus have ruled the saloons, juke joints, and honky tonks of Sydney. Their name has become synonymous with alt-country and cowpunk in this here town.
