This 1 day course covers the following gemstones: beryl (emerald, aquamarine, morganite), spinel, garnet, chrysoberyl, topaz, and zircon.Includes many colourful samples to look at in the lecture. Covers the difference between natural, imitation and synthetic. Discusses care and maintenance of these gemstones. Why a species may come in so many different colours. We chat about some of the more obvious signs to look for when identifying these coloured stones.
