Ipswich & West Moreton Region Child Protection Week
2025 Symposium
Child & youth service providers, school support staff, health professionals & students studying in the human services field are welcome to join in this year's educational engagement event. This is an excellent professional development opportunity & will address relevant practice issues relating to child protection.
Guest speakers:
Sarah O'Regan, Evolve Therapeutic Services, will focus on the power of connection through caring and nurturing relationships and the healing that can occur for those young people who have relational difficulties as a result of their attachment experiences;
Jill Clarke, Principal Health Clinician, Queensland Police Service provides psychologist support, assessment, and referral to victim-survivors of a range of thematic behaviours that are investigated by the State Case Management Unit, ESC. The SCMU investigates allegations of sexism and sexual harassment, and member involved DFV, as well as allegations of misogyny, racism, and homophobia;
Rochelle Bishop, Child Play Therapist, Play And Beyond Pty Ltd (empowering children to play it forward), regarding play based therapy for kids;
Farani Burns (young person), supported by Life Without Barriers, Next Step Plus Ipswich Program.
