Fortes in Fide - Lenten Day of Recollection
About
Withdraw from your daily preoccupations and spend some time in silence with the Lord and fellow Catholics in preparation for Holy Week.On the Saturday before Palm Sunday, young adults of the Newman Parish and broader Melbourne are invited to join for a day of recollection, to be spent in reflective silence. We will enter deeply into the mysteries of Our Lord’s Passion and Death and the Sacred Ceremonies of Holy Week as well as prepare and adorn our church for Holy Week.
Starting at 9:00am with Mass, the day will include Conferences, work in the church, and free time for prayer and reflection which can be spent in the church, hall, or park. We will finish the day with a Holy Hour at 4:00pm. We will keep a holy silence from the close of Mass until the end of Holy Hour, to enter more fully into recollection and prayer.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided. A $10 contribution is kindly requested to cover the costs of the day.
