On Wednesday 23 April from 5.30pm, come along to the Theory Bar in Meyer's Place (opposite the Italian Waiter's Club) to hear Bernard talk about and show images from his Creative Writing Doctorate:'The Production of Places by Comics Texts: an Australian Case Study'.
Bar open at 5.30pm for a 6pm start. Turn up from 5.30pm to get a drink, and a good spot.
From 6pm to 6.40pm, Bernard will make an illustrated presentation about his PhD research.
Highfalutin' jargon! Outrageous ideas! Historical pictorial fiction! Live cello from Amy Archer!
The presentation will embrace the theoretical: Bernard's thoughts about 'how comics produce places', and the practical: images and tales from his PhD comic book 'The Devil Collects', set in the Marvellous Melbourne of 1888.
