Join ECA Vic on Thursday, April 10th from 4.30-5.30pm, for a webinar on orchids! If you would like to improve your understanding of orchid ecology and survey considerations, then this session is for you!Marc Freestone (Principal Consultant – The Biodiversity Consultancy) – a botanist & ecologist with 15 years' experience and expertise in orchid conservation – will be joining us for this webinar, covering topics such as:
- Overview of threatened Victorian orchids
- Orchid ecology: phenology, pollination biology, factors that influence flowering
- Surveying threatened orchids: identification and survey design, available resources
- Evaluating impacts: estimating population size, accounting for uncertainty
